Work is well advanced making 50 tukutuku panels for the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The panels will be displayed on a rimu wall in the building which was gifted by New Zealand during construction in the early 1950s.
Māori Affairs Minister Pita Sharples came up with the idea after learning the UN was planning a major refurbishment of the building.
Members of Te Rōpū Raranga Whatu ō Aotearoa/Māori Weavers of New Zealand were invited to submit designs for pairs of panels.
They will be installed and launched in September.
