Greens seek common ground with NZ First
As the politicians gather in Wellington to start coalition talks, Greens leader James Shaw is dismissing past statements by Winston Peters he couldn't work with his party.
The Greens bring just seven MPs to the equation, but that is likely to increase by one when special votes are counted on October 7.
Mr Shaw says things have change since the New Zealand First leader blocked the Greens from government in 2005 and 2008.
"He's changed and we've changed and although we had our points of difference in the campaign, I think there is enough common ground there for us to work together," he says.
Mr Shaw says he's pleased with the way long-held Green positions on issues like climate change, water and poverty were picked up by Labour and to a lesser extent National this election.
