Queues as COVID fears resurface
There were long queues around COVID-19 testing stations in Auckland today as people rushed to check whether their symptoms.
This follows the discovery yesterday that four members of a South Auckland had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Contact tracing teams swung into action, and workmates of family members were also tested.
As the city went into level 3 lockdown at noon, police set up checkpoints on roads leading out of the city and tried to urge people not to head off for their baches.
Coromandel mayor Sandra Goudie warned her district had the highest percentage of over-65s in the country, and it did not need an influx of potential COVID-carriers.
