Flavell supports women in business
Maori Party leader Te Ururoa Flavell has issued a plea for more women to be recognised with management roles.
He says the Maori Womens leadership summit last week highlighted the issue and this has been reinforced by figures out today showing government departments are included in those organisations not appointing women to senior roles.
He says even departments such as Te Puni Kokiri are lagging behind in the appointment of women and its not good enough.
Mr Flavell says the Maori Party itself has given a lead and hopefully the gap will be bridged promptly.
