Maori Council drops TPPA counsel
Meanwhile the New Zealand Maori Council has dropped their legal counsel leading the Waitangi Tribunal action.
On Friday Maori Council co-chairman Maanu Paul emailed lawyer Donna Hall dismissing her and her firm Woodward Law as its TPPA counsel.
Neither party is commenting publicly on the reasons behind the parting of ways however Maori Council minutes indicate an alleged breach of directives given to Woodward Law.
The minutes point to concerns about a potential conflict of interest with Donna Hall and her husband Taihakurei (Eddie) Durie, a co-chair of the Council and former Chief Judge of the Tribunal.
