Rolleston roles a rehearsal for Rehearsal
Boy star James Rolleston has enhanced his go to position in New Zealand feature films by landing a major role in the adaptation of Man Booker winner Eleanor Catton’s first novel, the Rehearsal.
The teenager last year starred in The Dark Horse and The Dead Lands.
He will play a naive student in the film, which is the story of a scandal at a music and drama school told from different perspectives.
Others in the cast include Kerry Fox, Miranda Harcourt, country singer Marlon Williams in his first acting role and teenage internet star Jamie Curry.
It’s the first New Zealand production for director Alison Maclean since her 1992 debut feature Crush.
