It’s all go in Bluff where Ngai Tahu Seafood is racing to complete its new processing plant in time for the oyster season on March 1.
Executive chair Craig Ellison says the plant will accept and process koura or rock lobster and tio, which is what Ngai Tahu call Bluff oysters.
It replaces existing facilities.
Last year Ngai Tahu Seafood increased its operating surplus for the sixth year in a row, making $19.7 million in the year ended June 30, 2015.
