Davis impact wins caucus promotion
Labour corrections spokesperson Kelvin Davis, who has landed hits on the Government over fight clubs at Serco-run Mount Eden Prison and Australia's treatment of New Zealanders in detention centres has been rewarded with a promotion up the ranks.
The Tai Tokerau MP comes onto the front bench at number 7, and takes over the shadow Maori development portfolio from Nanaia Mahuta
While Ms Mahuta loses her number 4 ranking, at 12 she remains on the front bench.
Tamaki Makaurau MP Peeni Henare and Ikaroa Rawhiti MP Meka Whaitiri have been promoted to the shadow cabinet, with Ms Whaitiri adding local government to her associate primary industries role.
Christchurch East MP Megan Woods joins the front bench in recognition of the important work she is doing on the Canterbury rebuild and on climate change.
