Community law manual goes bilingual
Maori speakers wanting to read about the legal status of the language in can now do it in te reo.
The mark Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori, Community Law is has translated the relevant chapter in its annual update of the Community Law Manual, an easy-to-read, practical guide to everyday New Zealand law.
Nga Kaiawhina Hapori Maori o te Ture co-chair Wi Pere Mita says it offers practical advice for Maori speakers who wish to exercise their right to speak te reo in courts and tribunals.
This year the chapters on Maori, Employment, Harassment and cyber-bullying, Work and Income, and Child, Youth and Family have been overhauled, and the remaining 30-odd chapters updated.
