Simpl buy fast tracks Whanau Tahi
The head of Waipareira information technology subsidiary Whanau Tahi says buying a long established health software company will fast track the gains it can make for whanau care.
Whanau Tahi has bought Simpl Health, a 25 year old company with major contracts in New Zealand, Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Ray Noonan says while the core Whanau Tahi Navigator product allows providers to coordinate social service delivery, the Simpl range allows it to step into aged care, prescriptions, payments and other key health services.
He says Whanau Tahi can hit the ground running rather than spend years building up its own health modules and competing with major overseas vendors for contracts.
"Some of the problems that we're trying to deal with some of the social issues and health issues are here and now things so there's alot more urgency around it and the ability to acquire the contracts and be in and running and starting to direct a way that the funding will measure a way that that funding is being delivered and what outcomes are being delivered from that funding. It puts us potentially 5 or 6 years ahead," he says.
Ray Noonan says Whanau Tahi software means organisations like Waipareira can quickly see the value of new funding or initiatives.
