Auckland hits $1million and the housing crisis show no sign of stopping.

NZ hit an ugly milestone this week with the average price of Auckland homes now an eye wateringly ridiculous, $1million.
This at a time when first time home buyers can not afford a deposit, homelessness rises to 41 000, tens of thousands live in over crowded conditions and entire generations are locked out of home ownership.
Making matters worse is a Government still in denial about a housing crisis because they choose to be.
The National Government has zero interest in solving the housing crisis because the cheap and lazy immigration National support has flooded NZ with a non-unionised labour force who not only drive the minimum wage down, but also put huge stresses on housing infrastructure. This inflates growth rates and it makes those with property feel rich.
National needs that to convince voters to give them fourth term,
Effectively National has created perfect storm for the poor and the young while looking after the greedy and the self-interested. The only surprise is that it has taken so long for the truth about this Government's supposed brighter future being seen for the lie it really is. National's brighter future only applies to those rich enough to afford it, everyone else can go live in a car.
