Maori tech companies look for US boost
The Government hopes next week’s trip to the United States by Maori technology companies and iwi investors will lead to export sales and inspire young Maori to enter the industry.
Maori Development Minister Te Ururoa Flavell says the eight-day Te Tira Toi Whakangao programme will include meetings in San Francisco, Chicago and New York.
It aims to accelerate Maori tech companies’ plans to enter or expand in the US market;
– improve understanding among Maori tech companies and investors of trends and opportunities in the global technology sector;
– and promote investment in Maori-owned technology
The programme has been organised by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise with support from Ernst Young’s Maori advisory practice EY Tahi.
