The Labour Party Maori caucus launches its election campaign this weekend with a public meet and greet at Nga Whare Waatea in South Auckland
Campaign strategist, Willie Jackson says, it's a time for the community to get up close to current Members of Parliament and new candidates and to ask the basic questions.
"A lot of times our people don't know who their local MP is. There's a percentage of our population that doesn't know anything about politics whether they're Maori or Pakeha" says Willie Jackson.
