Sharper look for Maori TV
Maori Television has formally opened its new south Auckland offices and launched its high definition transmission service.
MTV board chair Georgina te Heuheu says the new premises at East Tamaki Rd provides the space and flexibility to encompass new platforms and technologies to support Maori Television's purpose of revitalising te reo Maori in a fast changing digital environment.
High definition transmission, funded by a $10.6 million allocation in Budget 2016, will give viewers a crisper and sharper picture on par with other major New Zealand broadcasters.
She says the service will continue to invest in a range of digital offerings and platforms alongside its traditional linear platform.
