Yung boss for Sealord
Sealord Group has hired a Canadian with experience selling food into Australia as its new chief executive.
The company, which is half owned by iwi and Te Ohu Kaimoana through Aotearoa Fisheries and half by Japanese seafood giant Nippon Suisan Kaisha, is recovering from a disastrous foray into Argentina.
Steve Yung, who until recently has been managing director of McCain Foods Australia New Zealand, will replace current chief executive Graham Stuart next month.
Sealord chair Matanuku Mahuika says Mr Yung has a strong set of skills that will help the company’s growth and development, particularly in the Australian market.
