Blair brings lustre to home town test
The Kiwis take on the Samoan rugby league team at Toll Stadium in Whangarei tomorrow.
New Zealand Rugby League communications manager Grant Chapman says New Zealanders get few opportunities to see the Kiwis live, so it made sense to take the game to the provinces.
There has also been a lot of attention on Wests Tigers prop Adam Blair, who left Whangarei Boys' High School as a 16-year-old to play for the Melbourne Storm.
"The fact we have got (Adam) Blair in camp and he's a home town boy gives us a bit of a touch point up here. It's special enough to be welcomed by the community but to see how they welcome one of their own back just gives it a little more of a lustre I think," Mr Chapman says.
The test will also see Isaac Luke back on the park after a two-game suspension.
