Rugby battler wins arthritis award
Maori All Black James Lowe will today be given the Arthritis Foundation’s Young Achiever Award, which identifies the achievements and potential of a young person affected by arthritis.
Lowe, who also plays for the Chiefs and the Tasman Makos has built his career despite being diagnosed with arthritis as a teenager.
Other awards at the ceremony in Christchurch will go to internationally respected physiotherapist and researcher Associate Professor Peter Larmer, international cricket umpire Billy Bowden, Lynne McMillan and Adrienne Crowe and natural remedies company Blackmores New Zealand.
