Explosion of homelessness in southside
Manurewa MP Louisa Wall isn’t expecting today’s state of the nation speech from Prime Minister John Key to offer any hope for those affected by an explosion of homelessness.

National wants community providers to pick up a lot of the work currently done by Housing New Zealand, and it is prepared to extend rental subsidies to people renting from organisations like the Salvation Army.
Ms Wall says that’s not addressing the reality of south Auckland that there are not enough homes.
