Prime lesson from "crazy" by-election
Meanwhile, Labour's Northland candidate Willow Jean Prime says Labour voters had her blessing to turn out for Winston Peters on Saturday.
Ms Prime's share of the vote plummeted from 25 percent to 5 percent, or 7654 votes fewer than she got in the general election last year.
She says she was it was a unique set of circumstances and a crazy by-election.
"Anything can happen and this by election and this by-election has shown that and I think it's a message to other safe seats around the country that you can't take people for granted, you can't take a region for granted, you can't get compacent, you have to continue to work hard for yeour region and deliver for those regions, otherwise you can lose the seat," Ms Prime says.
In her role as a Far North district councilor she's keen to sit down with local MPs Winston Peters and Kelvin Davis to brief them on the council's infrastructure and roading strategy.
