Peters win boosts party polling
New Zealand First has received a bounce in the polls from Winston Peters Northland by-election win.
The latest Roy Morgan poll finds New Zealand First at 8.5 percent nationwide, up 2.5 percent.
It would also be likely to hold the balance of power if an election were held tomorrow.
National dipped a point to 45.5 percent, but the shift of focus away from Labour cost it 3.5 percentage points, dropping to 27.5 percent.
The Greens with 13.5 percent have returned to pre-election levels.
Support for the Maori Party is down to 1.5 percent and Act bobs along at 1 percent, with United Future and Mana failing to register.
