Key cafe antics irk new MP
Parliament’s newest MP says the Prime Minister would have been bounced from her hair salon if he touched her staff.
Ria Bond takes up the New Zealand First list position vacated by the new MP for Northland, Winston Peters.
She shares Northland whakapapa, being a great grand niece of the late Sir James Henare, but she will be based in Invercargill where she ran a successful hairdressing business until last year’s election.
Ms Bond says she’s angered by revelations John Key made a habit of pulling the hair of a waitress in a Parnell café, something he tried to pass off as innocent horseplay.
"I have to say if someone walked into my business as a service sector and did that to my staff they would be out on their tush in a hurry," she says.
