Ireland meets Wairoa Filmmakers
Filmmakers at this weekend’s Wairoa Maori Film Festival will be talking with their counterparts in Ireland about new models of funding and making movies.
Irish director Peter McKeown will join a festival panel by Skype to talk about his documentary.
Festival director Leo Koziol says a dramatic drop in the cost of professional quality camera equipment and the growth of internet-based funding models has opened up new ways both to get films made and find an audience for them.
The festival starts on Friday at Kahungunu Marae in Nuhaka
