Te Mahuri Totara is a 100 percent te reo Maori show broadcast on Radio Waatea between the hours of 1-3 pm, every Monday through to Friday.
 
Te Mahuri Totara is a colloquial term for a rangatira or chief. Listen to host Tumamao Harawira as he guide's his listeners on a journey through te ao Maori, enhancing and highlighting the beauty of te reo Maori through the spoken work as well as waiata Maori.
 
While having an eye on the past, Te Mahuri Totara's main goal is to engage listeners and promote te reo Maori for future generations. With a particular focus on sports and local events through Auckland and nationwide, 

The show's host Tumamao Harawira is a veteran of Maori broadcasting both in radio as well as television, with over 15 years experience within the broadcasting industry.
