Love Aotearoa forms to counter Canadian race ranters
The impending visit by Canadian far right provocateurs Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux has prompted the formation of a new coalition to fight racism, hate speech and white supremacy in Aotearoa.
The pair’s promoters say they have found a new venue after Auckland Council refused to allow them to book the Bruce Mason Centre or any other council building.
Love Aotearoa Hate Racism says the tour is an attempt to infect others with psychological ill health under the guise of free speech.
It’s holding a launch at the Mangere Central Community hall tomorrow afternoon.
Speakers include Maori activist Joe Trinder, Anu Kaloti from the Migrant Workers Association, Ibrar Sheikh from the Federation of Islamic Associations, Will Ilolahia from The Pacific Panthers and Council of Trade Unions vice president Rachel Mackintosh.
