Musicians from Aotearoa and around the world will gather at Hoani Waititi Marae in West Auckland later this month for a 10-day workshop aimed at keeping alive global cultural heritage.
The Ethno wānanga will create a World Music Orchestra that will perform private concerts at the marae and the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre (Private) and public concerts at Silo Park and the Auckland Folk Festival.
Ethno is a worldwide music movement for young musicians and singers started by Jeunesses Musicales International in Sweden in 1990.
Musicians from Chile, India, Norway, Solomon Islands, Aboriginal Australia, Iran and more have signed on for Ethno NZ.
