New Zealand First leader Winston Peters says there is no evidence connecting him to donations to the New Zealand First Foundation – but Simon Bridges' DNA is all over the National Party donations scandal.
Mr Peters has refused to engage with what he calls the meerkats of the media into allegations about the foundation which are now being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office.
He says a double standard can be seen in the way Radio New Zealand, which has driven the reporting, interviewed the National Party leader about him this morning.
"I have no fingerprints on these matters, but Simon Bridges has all his fingerprints and a tape recording about what he was doing that is to do with a matter that the Serious Fraud Office has already charged these people for $200,000.00. Now, what sort of hypocrisy and stupidity are RNZ prepared to engage in when they have got the very guy with his DNA, fingerprints and blood all over it trying to attack someone who is innocent, namely me," Mr Peters says.
