A senior National MP is urging people to behave as if they have the coronavirus.

Judith Collins says self-isolation is not just to protect ourselves but to protect others.

She told Radio Waatea host Claudette Hauiti comparing it to wartime is not quite right, because there is no clear enemy.

"Anybody could have the virus or else we could each have the virus and we could be inadvertently spreading it to people because what we know is some people have the virus and they don't have any symptoms so we've got to treat everybody as though they have the virus and we've got to treat ourselves as though we have it," she says.
