Feint praised for commitment to justice
One of the country’s leading experts on Māori legal issues and the Treaty of Waitangi has been appointed a Queens Counsel.
Karen Feint practices as a barrister at Thorndon Chambers in Wellington, where she specialises in civil litigation, public and constitutional law, and Māori legal issues.
She is the author of a number of publications on Māori jurisprudence.
She is also a former co-convenor of the New Zealand Law Society women in law committee, and a member of the Bar Association’s diversity committee.
Announcing eight new silks including Ms Feist, Attorney-General David Parker said they were the first appointed under new criteria that included a commitment to improving access to justice.
