Whale Watch gets deep dive into toursim cash
Whale Watch Kaikōura is to receive COVID recovery support from the Government.
During a visit to the region today with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Tourism Minister Kelvin Davis said the Māori-owned business could draw up to $1.5 million from the Strategic Tourism Assets Protection Programme.
He said safeguarding Whale Watch will provide vital support to a wider area as it is a major drawcard, with its visitors supporting the Kaikoura economy through accommodation, hospitality, retail and other activities.
Applications to the protection programme close on June 18.
