Muller unprepared for deep doo-doo
New Zealand First MP Shane Jones says Todd Muller came ill prepared to head a political party.
Mr Muller stepped down today for health reasons.
Mr Jones says as someone who has had his own share of health scares he understands the stress of politics, but Mr Muller’s CV was better suited to being the corporate affairs manager of Fonterra or Zespri positions he held before becoming a politician.
"Politics, when you’re in the doo-doo, the cameras see right through you. The election has been completely inverted and turned on its head now. There's a huge level of uncertainty as to why at all would provincial voters tautoko te rōpu Nahinara," he says.
Shane Jones says while he is getting reports of rip tide against National in the Northland seat, he needs to convince voters he is the one to represent them which he intends to do by showing both humility and delivery.
