Martyn 'Bomber' Bradbury: One of the most interesting changes with a majority Government is the re-emergence of the importance of the factions inside a Party.

Throughout MMP, the friction for change has been the agreement between the parties, but in a majority Government situation, the friction for change comes from the factions inside the Party instead.

This is fascinating because the largest faction is the Māori Caucus which gives them enormous power if they chose to flex it.

One of the left's great political heroes in NZ has always been Michael Joseph Savage who is credited with the building of the welfare state.

What is NOT well known is that it was Savage's Caucus who forced the hand of the Labour Leader time and time and time again. He was just as cautious as Jacinda, but he faced a Caucus who were determined to force change.

If that is to happen under Jacinda, it will be the Māori Caucus doing the pushing.

Opinion: New Oranga Tamariki Footage and censorship a shock - Jacinda must step in now
Martyn 'Bomber' Bradbury: Explosive new Oranga Tamariki footage was released on Newsroom late last week and before the weekend, Oranga Tamariki had a Judge censor the footage and have had the story removed on the grounds that it identified the 4 Māori children at the centre of the latest uplift controversy.
Dr Rawiri Taonui | The Largest Pandemic in History and the Race for a Vaccine between the Rich and the Poor
By the end of this year, Covid-19 will be the largest pandemic in human history. Today the world total passed 60 million cases with 1.4 million deaths. On the current 7-day trend there will be 82 million cases and 1.8 million deaths before the end of the year.
Opinion: Oranga Tamariki must be run by Maori - NOW!
Martyn 'Bomber' Bradbury: The Children's Commissioner have just released the second part of their report, into Oranga Tamariki, Te Kuku O Te Manawa, and it is damning in its denunciation of the internal processes and decision making that leads to babies taken from mothers at or just after birth.
