Māori mentoring and social development organisation Te Whare Hukahuka has won a grant of $75,000 from the Community Leadership Fund - Hāpori Whakatipu to support its core operations for the next year.

The fund recognises the important work of groups in connecting the sector, fostering social enterprise and supporting volunteering and community-led development.

Other organisations to get core operational funding include sector umbrella group Hui E! Community Aotearoa, The Tangata Whenua, Community and volunteer Sector Research Centre and the Inspiring Communities Trust.

Philanthropy NZ and the Volunteer Army Foundation got smaller grants to $45,000 and $50,000 respectively to support projects.
