Deputy Prime Minister Winston says National's reshuffle spells the end of the ACT Party.

In light of Amy Adams' announcement she would stand down at the election, leader Simon Bridges appointed Paul Goldsmith as finance spokesperson.

Mr Peters says that means ACT won't get another deal in Epsom, where in past elections Mr Goldsmith has told National voters to give their electorate vote to ACT leader David Seymour.

He says Mr Goldsmith has spent his life writing books about other people's careers, and he is unqualified for his new role.

"My question for Mr Goldsmith is: 'When did you run a business? You wouldn't even know how to fill out a profit and loss account and wouldn't know how to make a dollar work for you and work for your customers and clients.' The answer is he doesn't so again we have the kind pretentious nonsense repeated by his leader who has no background in business either claiming to be business-understanding people and they are not," Mr Peters says.

In the reshuffle Christchurch-based list MP Joanne Hayes was made spokesperson for Māori development and Treaty of Waitangi negotiations.
