Tough to win trimmed down league tournament

The New Zealand Māori Rugby League Tuakana tournament will be held in Rotorua this weekend without whanaunga from across the ditch.
Twenty-six teams will play across three divisions, a relatively low turn-out with border restrictions keeping Australian-based players away.
Chair John Devonshire still expects a tough competition.
"The quality of the teams is still pretty up there, so it's known around rugby league circles that a Māori rugby league tournament is the hardest tournament to win," he says.
Kick-off is at 9am tomorrow at the Rotorua International Stadium.Copyright © 2020, UMA Broadcasting Ltd: www.waateanews.com
