The Tuwharetoa Settlement Trust has lost its general manager to the local council.

Dylan Tahau is set to become a strategic development manager for Taupo District Council, after just as year and a half managing the iwi.

He worked for the council for five years until 2012, before becoming the Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board’s environmental manager and then chair of the settlement trust.

He will remain a trustee.

Chairman Rakeipoho Taiaroa says Mr Tahau made a significant contribution to the trust's current strong position.

ODT Cartoon outrage misplaced
We should collectively be righteously appalled at the tone deaf ODT cartoon that made light of the terrible measles epidemic that has killed over 50 children in Samoa. It was an ugly 'joke' that shouted white privilege, but calls to boycott the ODT, sack the cartoonist and the enormous social media wave of fury seem to me to be grotesquely misplaced.
